Summer Spectacular!
Another awesome Summer Spectacular at the Markham Fairgrounds! A record turnout showed up in their “Angry Jim” SCS swag and braved the heat for some scrumptious food, cold beverages and friendly competition. Each team was provided with the supplies to engineer their very own “Angry Jim” slingshot. Once constructed, the competition to launch the furthest bean bag began!
Congratulations to our winning team with an incredible distance of 64.87m!

Helping Hands Charity Volunteer Event
This was an amazing initiative that allowed SCSers to give back to their communities.
Our Design Team assisted with preparing meals for shelter families with the Blue Door. SWM took part in a self-led litter cleanup at North Mile Park through Oceanwise Conservation Organization. Cost Sharing chose “Don’t Mess With The Don” and helped remove invasive plants and restore native ones to create a thriving ecosystem. Site Plan and SWM, through “10,000 Trees Communities Creating Habitats”, built berms around newly planted trees to ensure they receive enough water.

SCS Spring Event
Our SCS Spring Event included marshmallows, spaghetti sticks, tape and string!
The “Marshmallow Challenge” proved to be a huge success with SCS teams collaborating to build the tallest freestanding structure with the material provided within 18 minutes.
Teams did not disappoint with Team #6 winning First Place with a height of 73 cm in the Finals which earned them bragging rights, gift cards and best of all, a spot on the Jimmy Cup!

SCS Annual Christmas Extravaganza
A magical evening filled with laughter, dancing, prizes, cocktails and a delectable dinner. SCS celebrated their hard work and accomplishments from 2023 in style. Everyone enjoyed the sensational music from the live band, followed by the non-stop tunes from the DJ.
TACC/SCS Food Drive
‘Tis the season to give back to our community! SCS, together with TACC Group of Companies collected canned and non-perishable food items to donate to the Vaughan Food Bank. Thank you to all those who contributed to help us, help others.

SCS Spooktacular Fall Event
Pumpkin carving contest and costume contest were the competitions for this fun-filled evening. With over 100 pumpkins, SCS Staff did not disappoint with exceptional costumes and spectacular carvings, making the competition stiff for the top 5 pumpkin creations and top 3 costumes. It was a spooktacular evening mingling with colleagues. A special thanks to our guest judges!

Annual Golf Tournament
Fun was had by all who came out to this awesome event! It was a beautiful day with fierce competition. Prizes were awarded for the 1st place team as well as the Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin and a bonus Raffle for Jay’s Tickets! After the round we had a chance to relax and socialize with our colleagues on the patio over food and drinks.

Beat The Heat – In Support of United Way Greater Toronto
All summer long SCS provided cold treats for purchase in our snack bar. Staff cooled off by enjoying various ice-cream bars, freezies and popsicles while raising $320 for the United Way. Thanks to all who participated!

Summer Spectacular!
Once again summer spectacular was a huge success with a record turn-out! This year’s Team Building Event consisted of an afternoon Kickball Tournament followed by an after-party with a delicious dinner, drinks, games and prizes! Congratulations to Team 12 who became our champions!

Jay's Home Opener
We were thrilled to see so many people come out to support the Richmond Hill Foodbank at our SCS Stadium Lunch event at the office on Jay’s home opener day! Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we were able to raise $1200!! This donation along with all of the food items donated will go a long way in helping the Richmond Hill Food Bank.

Step Challenge - In Support of StopGap
Thank you to everyone who participated and donated in support of StopGap! Together we raised $2,123 while getting some exercise and enjoying the outdoors. Fun Fact – during this challenge we took total of 11.36 million steps! That’s walking from our office to Istanbul Turkey!
StopGap Foundation is a Toronto based charity that aims to create a world where every person can access every space. They work to raise awareness about barriers in our built environment and engage communities to work towards removing these barriers. They have populated the world with over 2000 ramps to date.

Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and donated to the Canadian Blood Services. Your contributions will help many people in need of blood. Together we raised $7,212. A special thank you to our Partners who donated almost $3,500.

SCS Cares
SCS has partnered with Geranium and have donated many sleeping bags to send to Ukrainian refugees. Many Ukrainians have fled the country and have had to stay at refugee shelters or camps. These sleeping bags will make a huge difference to help give them comfort and keep them warm. We thank everyone who donated and we continue to keep our Ukrainian colleagues and their families in our thoughts and prayers.

Movember
It was a November for the books!! THE MUSTACHE MADE ME DO IT charity event brought out the SCS competitive spirit in support of Movember. We made mascots and memes, competed in obstacle courses, feats of strength, and SQUIM Games. We got to witness the debut of The Silver Jimmies and a couple of our favourite colleagues getting a pie in the face. All the while rocking some fine-looking mustaches.
Thank you to all for participating, tuning in, and donating!! We raised an incredible $7,585 for men’s health!!

November 2021
Remembrance Day
Along with Todd Brothers Contracting, Griffith Property Services, Eye-View and PGI Contracting, we were proud to support the Whitchurch-Stouffville Legion, branch #459. Overall, we donated $1,850 to the Poppy fund in support of Veterans and their families. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s Poppy campaign.

Stepping for Camp Ooch!
Camp SCS (Stepping for Cancer Support) for Camp Ooch & Team Jake set out to raise money to send a kid to virtual camp. Together we took 15.4 million steps or the equivalent of 11,751 km – that’s walking from our office to Shanghai, China! We raised an incredible $6,786 which will go a long way for the families and kids at Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium.

SCS Step Up and Step Out Challenge
Congratulations to everyone who participated in this challenge! We were all able to get outside, enjoy some fresh air and start exercising. As a company we were able to take 16.5 million steps!
With everyone’s generous donations we were able to raise $4,154 for the Canadian Mental Health Association for York Region and South Simcoe! That is double our original goal!
